Werner Gasser

As Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at MSR, he bears overall responsibility for the Family Office and, in this role, is also responsible for developing and implementing the corporate strategy, as well as overseeing the Central Services, Finance, Human Resources and Business Development departments. As a member of the board of VUFO (the Association of Independent Family Offices), which was co-founded by MSR, Werner Gasser is an industry expert who actively promotes family office quality standards. The father of three is an expert in the various positions within individual generations as well as in asset succession. Following his degree in business administration specialising in banking and financial management, Werner Gasser completed a postgraduate master's degree (EMBA) at the University of Münster. Before joining the family office in 2004, he provided high net worth clients with advice as an asset manager at a bank. He joined the MSR consultancy team as a specialist in high net worth families in 2004, has been a partner since 2006, and managing director since 2015.

STEPHAN JÄGGLE

As Chief Investment Officer (CIO), Stephan Jäggle is responsible for strategic asset allocation in the family office, bringing deep expertise in all major asset classes. In his role, he oversees the selection of asset managers and is renowned for his innovative ideas. Privately, Stephan is always on the move – whether spending time with his children, running, skiing or playing football or tennis. After completing his degree in business administration specialising in banking and financial management at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University, Stephan Jäggle earned his master’s degree (MSc) from the University of Liechtenstein. Until 2009, he was initially responsible for setting up a private asset management division at a bank and was later involved in the hiving off of this division into its own subsidiary, where he was responsible for asset management as the authorised representative. He has been an invaluable member of the MSR consultancy team since 2010, a partner since 2013, and managing director since 2015.

Wolfgang Rombach

Since 2003, the father of three has been a managing partner at MSR, where he oversees the family office’s investment operations in addition to his consultancy role. Driven by his family’s love for the Upper Swabia region, he resigned from his position on the board of directors at a bank to take on this role. Drawing on his expertise and many years of experience, Wolfgang Rombach holds various posts on the supervisory and advisory boards of several medium-sized enterprises. His sense of humour, empathy and passion for successful management strategies that unite generations inspire both colleagues and clients alike. Wolfgang Rombach is distinguished by his goal-oriented approach and mental resilience – qualities that make him a reliable partner, both for professional challenges and during one of his mountain hikes. After holding posts in Frankfurt, Karlsruhe and Stuttgart, Wolfgang Rombach was responsible for the corporate clients, international activities and real estate business of two major banks until 2003.

A member of the management board of MSR since 2021 and responsible for the areas of consulting and asset controlling. Her strengths in three words? Competent, passionate, empathetic. A resident of Upper Swabia by choice, when Vanessa tackles something, she always does so with full commitment. Whether as a mother, on long journeys around the globe or when advising clients on complex assets – Vanessa Matheis always pours heart and soul into her work. It is a character trait that has helped her advance quickly in her career. After studying business administration (with a focus on finance) in Bonn, she completed the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) course at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. Born in Rastatt, she has more than 16 years of experience in managing large assets and previously spent several years in the management team at a family office in Munich.

Sportsman, team player, next generation! As a former competitive athlete, Maximilian Aust knows what it means to work together with commitment and passion to achieve an objective, to address the needs and sensitivities of others with empathy and to pursue big goals with courage and reason. Born in Reutlingen, Germany, after pursuing his studies in the USA with a sports scholarship, he began his professional career in 2012 as a relationship manager at the Multi Family Office in Austria. In 2015 there followed a move to MSR and a masters degree (EMBA) with a focus on business succession, inheritance law and the structuring of large family fortunes.

Marion Beutler is both a bundle of energy and a pillar of strength. She loves the sun and knows what family means as a proud mother of twins. In the family office, she unites different generations of a family around a common goal with purpose, focus and commitment; she helps families to manage their assets and reliably steers them towards the future. Born in Ravensburg, she has a degree in business administration specialising in banking and financial management as well as a Master of Laws specialising in inheritance law and succession planning; she joined the MSR team in 2016 after working at a renowned private bank in Hamburg for many years.

KATHRIN BISCHOFBERGER

What drives Kathrin Bischofberger professionally? Finding the best answers to complex and challenging questions. The native of Riedlingen has a particular interest in understanding what motivates entrepreneurial families. She acts with foresight and maintains a cross-generational perspective, demonstrating a keen instinct for her clients’ individual needs. A certified financial planner, she spent more than ten years working as a wealth manager at a major bank after earning her business administration degree with a focus on banking and financial management. In 2019, she joined MSR’s Wealth Controlling team, where she has since established herself as an accomplished family officer. Alongside her expertise in family strategy and foundations, she holds a Master of Laws in inheritance law and corporate succession and lectures on financial planning at the Ravensburg University of Cooperative Education. In her free time, Kathrin Bischofberger is an enthusiastic equestrian and enjoys travelling the world – always in search of sunshine and the most beautiful beaches.

Maximilian Hauser is someone with whom you can quickly strike up a conversation. His openness and cheerfulness are infectious. The empathetic Munich native thinks creatively beyond the obvious, enjoys taking responsibility and is known for his good out-of-the-box ideas. He completed his technology- and management-oriented business administration studies with a focus on finance at the Technical University of Munich, graduating with a master’s thesis on “Succession in Single Family Offices”, which was awarded a prize by the Association of Independent Family Offices. After completing his degree, he spent some time in the automotive industry, joined a trainee program at MSR in 2020, and pursued a master’s degree in Family Entrepreneurship with a focus on succession and shareholder competence in family businesses at Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen. Since July 2024, Maximilian Hauser has been contributing his fresh perspective, solid expertise and positive mindset to the MSR advisory team.

Family Officer at MSR since 2015. A man with international experience, broad interests and vision. A co-author who has experience with foundations and, as a father of three, is familiar with family dynamics and the needs of families. As a business mediator and economics and investment expert he is a highly sought-after member of the MSR family. He was managing partner of an Austrian multi-family office until 2014. Prior to that, his posts included Head of Private Banking and Key Account Manager for a renowned Austrian private bank. Member of the board of trustees of the Stifterverband, an initiative for the promotion of education, science and innovation in Germany.

A proactive individual who is realistic, calm and objective. With a degree in banking and business management, he worked as a wealth controller at MSR from 2017 to 2022. He then helped to establish and manage a single family office in Baden-Baden. Since his return to MSR at the end of 2024, he has been contributing his expertise and deep understanding of family businesses to the MSR consulting team. Thoughtful, analytical and results-driven, he tackles challenges with the aim of finding the best solutions for all involved. As an executor of wills, he values communication across generations. In his personal life, he is an enthusiastic road cyclist and passionate cook who enjoys travelling and is always on the move.

Matthias Scheffner is someone who speaks his mind honestly – a quality valued by both colleagues and clients alike. Born in Oldenburg, he is known for his calm demeanour and steady approach. His motto is: listen first, then speak. Thoughtful yet decisive, he approaches each task with a balance of composure and determination, whether at work, in his personal life or during sports. An avid water sports and cycling enthusiast, Matthias lives with his family on a multigenerational farm in Lower Saxony. After more than 20 years at Deutsche Bank, including 15 years in leadership roles, as well as seven years as part of the German management team at the private bank ODDO BHF, Matthias Scheffner will – starting in 2025 – serve as a Family Officer at MSR, advising client families in northern and western Germany. With his expertise, strong sense of values and ability to think long-term and sustainably, he is dedicated to ensuring that complex assets are well-prepared for transfer to the next generation.
